can't get my GH to connect to Toyota connect. After I add my vehicle via the app by scanning my VIN, it says it cannot connect and to try again. I have done this 20+ times over the last 3 weeks, but no success

Have you checked to make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your phone, and that it is also active for the Toyota app? If you have an iOS phone go into settings and scroll down until you see the Toyota app. Open that up and make sure the Bluetooth toggle is on.

I would take it to dealer and have them complete the setup… this should have all been done for you during initial pickup date…

Exactly. Your dealer is required to set this up for you at delivery. Go back and have your sales person assist you with this.

The dealer set it up on my wife's phone, but now I can't get mine to connect properly. We set up an additional profile through the infotainment system, but I still can't get the actual app to work on my phone, even after entering in the VIN and enabling bluetooth. Super frustrating.

If your dealer can't fix it for you give Toyota Connected Services a call at 1-800-331-4331. They can help you fix the problem.

Dealer was unhelpful. Connected Services was actually really helpful and stayed on the phone with me until it was resolved. The rep had to put me on hold a few times to figure things out with their "product specialty team" but we figured it out. Unfortunately the car can only be set up and associated with one phone (my wife's). I had to manually add my phone through the setup menu --> bluetooth menu, then once it was paired, scroll down to the bottom of the menu and press "make secondary device". This has to be done out of range of the primary phone so that it doesn't connect while you're trying to add yours. So now when I'm driving the car alone, it will automatically connect with my phone if it doesn't see my wife's phone first. I feel like it's a pretty lame work around, but whatever... it beats having to manually select my phone from the screen every time I drive.

Have you set up a second profile in the vehicle and made your device the primary device on that profile?

Yeah, I tried that but it required me to select my profile, enter a PIN, then it would connect to my phone. Too many stupid steps. I just want to turn the car on and have it connect to my phone without having to do anything. The current method I mentioned above is working perfectly so far.
