I need to watch the whole video; but I come from a different point of view than most. I do rideshare now in a hybrid Camry and will buy one of the GH to be able to get Uber XL, Select, Comfort and Green rides; which all pay more than Uber X. And yes, buying a new vehicle to do this pencils for me. My bottom line is that for the most important thing is low cost of maintenance, reliability and fuel cost. Having spent years in the automotive retail and repair business I think doing rideshare in anything but a Toyota, and possibly a Honda is just plain foolish. The Mazda is not worth considering from my point of view. So things that automotive journalists get wound up like sportier handling and an "elevated" driving experience are meaningless to me. I don't care about something that is a second faster 0-60 or if one goes around a slalom course two seconds faster. When dollars are on the line Toyota is the winner.

Reliability, reliability, reliability. I want my car ownership experience to be as boring as possible. Toyota's engineering philosophy follows this mantra.

You and I are on the same page. My 2017 Hybrid Camry has 182,500 on it and it has been the most boring and reliable car I have EVER owned. And at 72 YO and having been in the retail auto business for 15 years I have owned a lot of cars. Consistently, and over decades, Toyota is at the top of the heap. And you damn near could not give me any of the Euro crap that the auto writers love. I could tell you stories about BMW's, Volvo's, Mini's, Land Rover's and MBZ's that would curl your toes as to cost and down time.
It seems that Honda's are not what they used to be. And Mitsubishi is a horror story all of its own. We had a Mitsubishi's that was less than a year old that the dealer or US folks could not make run and drive over 7 MPH. They sent somebody over from Japan and he could not fix it. We finally auctioned it off as being under one year old we did not have to guarantee its condition.
Toyota is the ONLY brand i will buy. Boring is good.
