My mistake. Talking about Mazda CX90 not Volvo X90.
Agreed. But that top of the line inline 6 turbo on the CX 90 is just so fun to drive. That is my only struggle. I'm definitely waiting until 2025 to buy & I'll see how the reliability is on both vehicles by the. Even hopefully the end of 2025 as long as my current rides hold up. Just want to reiterate how much I like the conversation in this thread. 😁👍👍

Careful what you wish for. As I stated before in another thread, maintenance costs going forward will be ugly given how everything seems to be hidden at the back of the engine compartment. The following review by "Car Care Nut" is very eye-opening.

Not sure what Mazda engineers were thinking with its overly complicated engine design which adds minimal to no benefit other than significantly increase maintenance costs and reduce reliability. It's so contrary to the Japanese philosophy of simple and elegant engineering. The lack of a rear sway bar for such a heavy vehicle is also disconcerting.

It's a beautiful and understated vehicle nonetheless but will come with a huge price in ownership experience. Hard pass for now.

I seen that video a when it first came out. I understand what he is saying, but he is also a Toyota mechanic so he is probably a little biased. Really enjoy his videos though & overall I think he does a good job. I'm not to concerned about a couple of his items he point out going bad during the life of the vehicle as long as you do proper maintenance. Plus now a days all cars are expensive to work on if something goes wrong past warranty. Inline 6 engines should be very reliable engines in general. All that I know is after I test drove the top of the line inline 6 turbo CX 90 it is hard for to pass up because it was that fun to drive. Especially for a family hauler. I'm getting way more of a minivan driving experience from the GH except for the speed you get with the MAX. But they put that engine in a Sienna & it would be the same driving experience probably. Just not much there for the driving enthusiast. That being said I'm still very interested in & sure I would be happy with either vehicle.
